It seems tertiary institutions in Ghana are going the extra mile at making their students more employable after school. In a bid to expose and develop its students in a number of skills and competencies that are crucial to success in the world of work, Cape Cost Polytechnic held a career fair on 10th June, 2016.
The programme saw the presence of various employers and other stakeholders, who spoke to students on various topics.
L’AINE Services was also invited to contribute their quota of expertise to the programme. The representative from the company, Mr. David Mills, delivered a presentation to the students on ‘Preparing for Interviews’ and ‘How to Write a Winning CV’.
In his presentation, he spoke to the students on how to successfully streamline their future job searches in order to stand out from other applicants. He emphasised that the students ensure that they “…don’t just put a CV together, but rather write a winning CV that is tailored to the role they are applying for ”and also about how “…an interview is an opportunity to sell yourselves to prospective employers.”
“First impressions are very important,” he added.
In the end, the organisers expressed their appreciation to all who attended the career fair and urged the students to put the information received to good use in order to succeed in the workplace.
